Privacy policy

The Funny Cartoon collects no personal information. There are no accounts, no sign-up forms, no newsletter, no comments and no tracking scripts of our own. The site runs no JavaScript at all.

Like every website, our hosting server keeps standard access logs (IP address, requested page, browser type, time) for security and troubleshooting. They are not used to identify or profile you and are not shared with anyone.

Page typography is loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests font files from Google's servers; that request is subject to Google's privacy policy. No other third-party services are embedded. The only other outside content is the daily xkcd strip on its own page, fetched from xkcd.com under its Creative Commons license.

Links and site content

This site is a directory. Almost every "read it" button leads to another website — a cartoonist's own site, a syndicate such as GoComics or Comics Kingdom, or a platform such as Webtoon. Those sites are not ours; we don't control their content, availability, advertising or privacy practices, and we can't guarantee that a link that was family-friendly yesterday still is today. Use them at your own discretion. We check links regularly and welcome reports of broken or inappropriate ones.

Copyright and the comics themselves

Every comic strip listed here is the property of its creator and/or syndicate. We host no copyrighted strip artwork; each entry is a hand-written description with a link to the official source. Where a page does display a strip, it is either in the public domain (published before 1931, sourced from Wikimedia Commons) or published by its creator under a Creative Commons license, which is credited on the page. If you are a rights holder and would like a listing changed or removed, contact the site owner and it will be handled promptly.

Terms of use

You're welcome to read, share and link to any page on this site. Please don't scrape the whole thing and republish it as your own; the descriptions took real effort to write. The site is provided "as is" for entertainment — we aim to be accurate about creators, dates and links, but comics move, end and change hands, so no warranty is given and we accept no liability for anything you do with the information here.

The Funny Cartoon is an independent fan-made directory. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any cartoonist, syndicate or publisher named on the site. Trade names and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify the works being described.
